Micah P Hinson’s, “Beneath the Rose” video
I remember that we used to terrorize each other on the playground and hit each other with sticks, though it was mostly me terrorizing you. [I'm sorry] After I found out my mother was marrying another man and I was moving away to a different school, I spent whole nights crying, and especially before my “new” first day at school. And when I stepped up on to the bus for my very first bus ride and looked at all the girls chatting amongst each other about things that happened in their yesterdays, there you were, sitting in the back and looking just as miserable. I didn’t feel so afraid because I got to sit by you and we could talk about things that happened in our yesterdays too.
