Everyone has been harping about New Years and resolutions and how they hate them and don’t like making them and I don’t think I’ve run into a single person who’s been excited about New Years and resolutions. I think they’re a good thing. Then again, I don’t make the same outrageous ones every year- I make something attainable. I take time out and reflect on the things I thought I did well, the things I would like to change, and then I make two lists. One has small, reasonable goals, and the other has bigger goals- and they’re probably things I won’t manage but I like to set those for myself.
Jei and I already put 2 lists on the whiteboard, on the back of our bedroom door; with some things we’d like to see happen within the next year. I’m excited.
Also, the New Year is a time to set old things behind you and have it come with an “official” feeling. I don’t know if I’ve been making much sense, I’ve been feeling awful all day and I just threw up. I’m going to bed. See you next year or something witty.
One of the things I don’t like about myself is how easily I can become agitated or stressed. Because of this trait I have lots of knots in my back and it’s generally a very pained area. Well, Jei got me a really, really nice back massager for my birthday. It sits in my chair or stretches out on the bed. It actually kneads into my back and I fell asleep in it today. He also picked up a stuffed penguin with headphones on, only the headphones are speakers and they plug into my iPod. =}
OH.
And now I have a badass webcam. Right now I’m going to DM for some more Dungeons and Dragons, but I’m going to make a video asap!
Jei’s trying to convince me to open my birthday presents right now. I’m telling him that I want to wait and that I’d like for them to be wrapped, but he’s like a four year old on Christmas.
Him: BUT THEY’RE SO GOOD.
Me: All the more reason to wait.
Him: Please? For me? Let me give them to you now?
Me: I don’t think so honey.
Him: *SURPRISE ATTACK OF THE PUPPY DOG EYES*
Me: !?! Wha…? Uh…
Him: *INTENZZZ*
Me: Um.. okay. I guess? At least wrap them.
Him: How about I wrap them in a blanket?!
Me: NO! At least wrap them! That’s the fun part. Unwrapping them. And trying to guess what they are. Geez.
Him: We don’t have enough wrapping paper.
Me: *is now looking at the wrapping paper and trying to logically guess what it could be* It must be huge. We have a lot of wrapping paper.
Him: Noooowwwwwww.
