I wish we could find another service like that! I'm not religious (as you already noted, hehe) so I don't know what's going on at churches in this city, but I'm with you there! *writes down new life goal* ;]

Oh, Bronnie, I don't consider it spam. =)

About the choir singing in he dark and holding candles: I was a HUGE fan of being in choir and in college I about shat my pants when we sang an incredible a cappella arrangement of Carol of the Bells and O Holy Night. And singing in the dark is just- incredible. Especially when people start CRYING in the audience. Haha.

And yes, the lights are actually blue. Haha. I got them for $2 at the local Meijer. I'll check the box when I get home (I'm at my mom's) to see the brand.

I'm not religious either but I might want to attend so I can hear the choir.

...I'm trying not to spam, but Christmas carols brought out all these memories, lol.

Once In Royal David's City is how the service would start. Everything in the hall was dark and then the choir would proceed to walk in with candles, the girl in front holding a cross, and the girl behind her singing the solo part. Haunting, in the most wonderful way possible.

*reads Ben's comment*

I -really- want to go to some sort of Christmas mass. I'm not religious, but it's something my family did every year and that stopped a few years ago. My high school held the most beautiful carol service I've ever been to. My parents would always say they should charge money to attend, it was that amazing. Goosebumps all around. Though I was part of the choir, the source of the magic, there's something special about singing in the dark, only choir members holding candles. :] *sighs*

And I agree! I'll have to toss out some names. ;] Though here's a random one...if you know this I'll actually be stunned. Exchange Into the Night...does that ring any bells?

Ben, I *love* O Holy Night. It gives me goose bumps if it's done right. =)

And Bronwyn, what is this rare taste we both seem to have. A lot of people don't know George Winston. Our parents were seperated at birth. First Enya, now George, what next?!

Slitz, I'm so, so, sorry. The problem with holiday tunes in the mall is that they're CRAPPY. They don't usually play Mannheim Steamroller, they play "Jingle Bell Rock" over and over again until you're homicidal.

Regardless, you might like the piano version of Carol of the Bells. It's purrdy.

I worked in a mall over the holiday season. From the end of October to the day after Christmas it was Christmas music in all forms, repeated over and over again. I can no longer listen to holiday music for fear that I'll have PTS induced flashbacks.

Oh man, a few years ago, my church had one of the nephews of the piano player come in and sing Oh Holy Night during Midnight Mass and it was one of the most goose bumpy things I have ever heard cause he was so good! I have a Carol of the Bells by Trans Siberian Orchestra and Metalica if you'd like that: )

Pumpkinqueen- No, this is Winston's piano arrangment of the song, but I find it so beautiful.

Diana, Merci. =}

Heather, I've been trying to snag that version all morning but I can't seem to find it. But when I do snag it I'll be sure to share it with you!

Carol of the Bells is my FAVORITE Christmas song. I love it so much. I am always on the lookout for the perfect version of it.. I especially want a really good one with singing. I love singing along to it!

Also I LOVE that version of O Holy Night!! That is my favorite part of the movie because of that song. So pretty.
