Why am I smiling? I’ll tell you why.

I’m pretty sure this just sky-rocketed to my top favorite pies (strawberry rhubarb)- it was extremely delicious. I baked some pork strips yesterday and they turned out wonderfully. I was very excited. But, in turn, I spaced out and forgot to add the box cheese to the scalped potatoes. Which wasn’t too bad because I had added my own real cheese, but I was hoping I could make it through the meal disaster free. But I guess I can’t help it when my mind is somewhere else.

I guess even though it took a while to make it was super delicious and very worth it.

LISTEN TO THIS SONG.

Yeah. Peach pie. Expect cherry and strawberry rhubarb photos soon. I’m very spoiled. By the way, the reason I had you listen to that song (hopefully you made it to the vocals at least) is so I could share with you my surprise when I discovered the vocalist was none other than Scarlett mother fucking Johansson. First of all, I love this song. Second of all, she sings it really brilliantly. Finally, I listened to a few songs that were on her new album and didn’t really like them. At all. But this blew me away! I wish she had done more with this voice than whatever indie weird shit she tried for the album.

What’s your vote?

So apparently this restaurant downtown that’s extremely overpriced offers 焼きそば (Yakisoba) on their menu. I’m kind of having a hard time breathing about it. The problem is, my mom makes it really well already and I’m not sure if the restaurant will make it properly or American style. I think I’ll just have to make it myself, to be honest. It will be cheaper and probably better in the long run. I just wish I had the ingrediants to make ソーキそば (Okinawan sōki soba) but there’s no way I can get my hands on the Awamori without paying out the nose.

I’m trying to read 52 books this year. (That’s a book a week.) But I just started this morning though and so I want to have five books read by February 5th. I’ve read Coraline, Getthing the Girl, and now I’m on The Alchemist. I really, really loved Coraline. Any good book recommendations? I’ve already read the Jonathan Safran Foer and Chuck Palahniuk books, and those that I haven’t read are already on my list. I’m only saying that because they seem to be a popular LJ recommandations. Sorry if this post was boring, I’m just sort of filling you all in.

I will try to do my vlog today. I already did it once, but part of it is ruined so I have to redo it. And I’m lazy. But I will try. After my bath.

Also, I wanted to say a quick thank you to those of you that write. Honestly, reading your words really helps pull my day together. My entire friends list and those with your own domains- Thank you. I check my list twice a day for updates.

That is all.
Cheers, cats.
