Don’t mind the sleep marks on my leg, but I just noticed the burn I got from leaning against the sauna at Margaret’s (Juliet), and so I wanted to share. Tonight is closing night. I am sad about that. I connected really well with Benvolio yesterday. I want to give it my all tonight. Who knows when I’ll get to work with Joe, Riley, Chris, and Chelsea, again. I want to make sure that I did everything that I wanted to do for this performance before it’s over. Especially considering the amazing adaptation of the Benvolio and Mercutio relationship. It’s amazing. For those of you that don’t know, in this production, Benvolio and Mercutio have a romantic relationship, and thus when Mercutio dies, he has also suffered from love and Benvolio suffers tragic loss.
Every production I was in, aside from one, I spent the next few months going, “Damn, I wish I’d thought of that!” or “Shit, I should have done this!”
I don’t want to do it this time.
I want to shed “Sara” for a night and truly be Benvolio.
“Doff thy name, and for that name, which is no part of thee, take all myself.”
This is a video for a project I’m really excited about that just started. Life According to Us is a project where six (now seven!) of us are going to do a video log a day, and ask each other questions and pose challenges to get to know each other and just discuss life, the universe, and everything. Check us out on YouTube and participate in the discussions!
So this has been a long and on-going process, as most hair people will know. The above shot was a few nights ago after three applications of color removal. First I should state that I had red, no really, really red, in my hair for about a year. Everywhere I looked online advised against going from red to blonde yourself and recommended seeing a professional, which for corrective coloring would cost about $200 or more? Yeah, I don’t think so. I took it as a challenge. So I figured I would put my success story up here for those looking for a how to do it yourself for less than $30.
I’ve been playing the guitar again recently and it’s frustrating because my fingers give out before my hands and body do. I want to keep playing, but I haven’t played in so long that the calluses on my fingertips are gone and need to be re-built. Our local piano store, which happens to be right down the road from me, is supposedly giving free adult piano lessons.
Sara is a girl who spends her days feeling. She likes acting, photos, instruments, writing, music, and books. I know this because she is me. And on most days I'm her too.
