I’ve noticed that when it comes to food it’s a habit of mine to enjoy something I like over and over again and then switch to something new, forever rotating. Like, I’ll eat bean and cheese burritos every day for lunch for two months straight, and then I’ll find something new and start eating that. Eventually I’ll get back around to the burritos, though. (Or whatever else it is I find myself forever rotating between.) Does that make any sense? Anyway, it’s strange. Why can’t I just switch from one day to the next eating everything I like? Maybe it has to do with the seasons?

last favorites:
bean and cheese burritos
Morningstar chick’n nuggets + fries + ranch
steamed veggies over rice
Sara’s cheesy pasta
salad

current favorites:
broccoli and cheddar soup over rice
eggs in a basket
egg salad sandwiches
udon noodle soup
salad

Oh, I can’t wait until this Thanksgiving folks because I’m already craving the mashed potatoes and gravy. Last year we didn’t do gravy because it wasn’t vegetarian, this year I’m spoiling myself.

It’s not strange - at least, not to me.
I’ve been eating nothing but tiger toast (cheese and vegemite grilled on toast) for the past few months.

I used to eat nothing but peanut butter, but now I can’t even stand to look at it.

I think it’s normal! You’ll probably find that as people leave comments here. I think, generally, it’s just easier to eat the same thing. It’s one less decision we have to make in the day, y’know?

When it comes to food, I think sometimes familiarity breeds contentment…

Just be thankful you are not stuck having a meal plan at school like I am. lol. Thanks to the food services here I usually choose to eat these meals every week: grilled cheese, cheeseburgers, burritos, and maybe if I’m feelin’ crazy I mix it up with some pizza. It’s getting old real quick! You shouldn’t feel weird about your eating habits, I do tend to that a lot to, plus at least you are choosing healthy foods which is always good!

hahahaha i do this exactly same thing! i’ve been eating chili flavored ramen and morningstar buffalo wings for like 3 weeks straight, almost exclusively. before that it was chicken noodle soup and microwave bean & cheese burritos. i always thought i was the only one that had a weird seasonal eating pattern…

Haha, well I’m glad I’m not the only one! And that’s a very good point, Elizabeth, that it’s one less choice to make during the day.
Abby, I’m sorry to hear that but hopefully you’ll be having a whole bunch of good meals when you go on break. It brings a whole new warmth to, “Home cooking”. =)

Ashley, HELLZYES. Micorwave bean & cheese burritos rock! Morningstar buffalo wings? I haven’t had those yet, I’ll have to give them a try. =)
