“I loved the first one so much and I am literally terrified that the second, and now the third, cannot possibly live up to the first. I don’t want to soil my experience and elation with the first book by reading a mediocre second.”
I don’t know what I was thinking, it was wonderful. It wasn’t quite as magnificent as the first, but it was worth it, a good edition to the first. And I will say this much, I knew it, and I was right. If I didn’t know there was a third book I probably would have thrown this one down and burst into fits of tears. It was good.
