I’ve started carrying my own bag with me for when I go shopping. Not because I’m trying to make a huge statement or because I think I’m better than anyone else, but because it feels right when I do it. When the bagger asked me if I wanted paper or plastic I just smiled and handed him my bag saying, “If we could use this, please.”
And I was expecting a weird look but he just smiled and started bagging them in my tote while I paid. It felt nice. The pluses to this are that it’s better for the environment, and also my bag is by far more durable than those shitty plastic ones. I thought that I would run into a problem fitting everything into my bag but it’s pretty huge and I haven’t had an issue so far. So I can’t think of any cons.
I’ve also altered my “365 project” slightly. I’m having a really hard time taking a picture of myself every day. I find it’s boring, limiting, and I just don’t like doing it. My photography skills aren’t benefiting from the project at all, and that’s what I was hoping to increase. So I’m still trying to capture my day into a photograph, but I don’t have to be in it. So if I want to take a picture of my art stuff littered all over the table from working on the comic all day, I don’t have to slide my hand into the picture and ruin it. And since yesterday I tested out one of my studio lights upstairs on Riley and Eric I decided to use a picture of them that I liked to represent my day. I’m already feeling a lot better about the project.

i went in the exact same direction with 365, too.
i love using my own tote at the co-op! good for you :)
