Catalina Sandino Moreno was purely remarkable in this film, and portrays a young woman who becomes a drug mule to aid her family with finances and her unquenchable longing to spread her wings. I’ve been meaning to see this one for a while, and just finally got around to it this evening, my feelings: thumbs up! Though the beginning is a little slow, it does well for presenting Maria’s struggle with her situation in Columbia. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed Traffic, Empire, or Elephant.
