The faculty made it a big deal that you were a smoker, they didn’t want you seen doing it on campus or talking about it in class. But sometimes you would park your car around back and the kids would pick inside during recess. I remember you getting in trouble for having them visible in your car, and now that seems horribly wrong. I wonder why at the time I thought it was okay for them to do that to you. I’m sorry. I should have known better.
