Remember when we went skinny-dipping?

Wait…. didn’t that actually happen?

Remember when I went to visit you there, and I stayed in your apartment and we made silly videos and took hundreds of photos? And you wanted me to teach you some portuguese words. Hilarious. Good times! :p

That should be real. =\

I would like to learn how to say, “Love exists” and “Don’t forget me” in Portuguese. =)

Remember when we used to explore the little forest, snapping photos of the silliest things, and talked for hours at the edge of the pond behind the field? We had a competition to see who could skip their stone the farthest.

I don’t think this is supposed to happen this way, but reading these is really making me sad for the moments I’ve missed out on.

Remember when you baked me that pie and I ate the whole thing in one sitting?

Of course, of course, what kind of pie was it again?

Half cherry and half apple.

Remember that time we sat around listening to Hip-Hop for hours on end, only for you to conclude the night by saying: “You know, you were right. Hip-Hop is great.” You continued on, proclaiming that cats ‘really weren’t so great after all’ and that a penguin would be an all together better choice for a pet. I agreed and proposed a toast to new beginnings.

And then we ate pie.

Oh, yeah I almost forgot. You also happened to decide to make a publishing company out of MtPC and published my wildly succesfull first book, shooting us both into millionaire-ism. You remember, right?

Oh, that’s so badass. Except for the hip-hop part. And the cats. But the rest is badass. =P

I should have known your memory would be filled with smartasserism. Yes, that’s a word. I remember when it was added to the dictionary.

remember when i ordered us that huge dessert, the warm marble chocolate brownie topped with real whipped cream and ice cream and your jaw actually fell open! haha, you were like a slack-jawed yokel! and it was so good we ate the whole thing and you even licked the plate clean and the people at the next table over were staring and i just said to them “hey! it’s damn good dessert, you should try it!”

I ate a brownie and LIKED it?! I should have remembered that.

Remember when the leaves were blowing down the street, and half the town was empty?
It became something else when the tourists left, and the hot chocolate we drank from the little shop was that much better in the silence.

Remember when we hiked up that mountain and then sat at the top and painted all the beautiful things we could see for hours on end. Before leaving you took magnificant photographs while I wrote the soundtrack to our adventure?

Hey Sara!! Just today when I was driving past the pet store I had a total Déjà vu of when we set all those butterflies free in the park before filling all the library books with polaroids that we took of our special day!!!

Sure I nearly crashed the car when I burst into laughter remembering this - but then I sang Memory by Barbra Streisand.. so it was all ok!!

Remember when the science lab blew up and Dr. J. watched all the students run around screaming and yelling, and he made Jen cry, ( i can’t remember which Jen cause there was a million of them) And then we all lined up and did the Phospolipids dance.

Michelle, I wish I had saved just one Polaroid for myself!

I was thinking just the other day about when we ran into one another in Munich–in the little Steinheil 16 pub near the technical university where you were presenting a paper about the transmissivity of biaxial geonets in double-liner municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill systems. An idiot spoke rudely to you and you grabbed the plate of the patron beside you. It happened to contain the restaurant’s oft-boasted-of biggest place of schnitzel in the city, and you put that in the rude dude’s face with great vigor. And then, while the bar cheered you on, you rubbed that lemon wedge in his eyes.

It seemed really extreme and out of character at the time, but looking back it seems pretty funny.

Don’t worry: my eyes got better pretty quickly, and I’ve never really been angry about it.
