I would have to say the smell. Autumn just smells different. Also, that wonderful cool breeze and the sight of leaves blown in drifts against steps or walls.

Fall used to be my favorite season, but living in North Dakota we get about one month of it before seamlessly making the transition into an early, but long, winter. =(

I remember your foot/leaf shots! I wanted to take one but was rushed when I found the most perfect red maple leaves. :(
