I have been showering alone for a while now lately, and let me tell you it’s taken all the fun out of the experience. Now, before you start snickering like a batch of prepubescents, I should have you know I’m speaking entirely about the intimacy that comes when washing and caring for another; the careful scrubbing and chaste hand placements.

“Tilt your head back; it’s time to rinse.”
“Like that?”
“Perfect.”

I feel loved and taken care of.
I don’t feel naked and exposed.

:)

The shower intimidates me when it comes to sharing it. Possibly because the boy isn’t thinking about bathing too much.

I guess that I’m lucky then because when Jei and I showered I could tell that he was actually focusing on washing my hair and stuff and vice versa.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I agree. I always feel awkward talking about it because I feel like people might misinterpret it as something sexual, but showering together is one of my favorite things ever. It’s so intimate and it makes me feel more comfortable than just about anything else.

That is exactly it. For an entire unforseen amount of time you can be completely nude and for once it isn’t about sex.

I love this post; because it is so honest & says so much, without revealing anything at all.

(I’m a HUGE fan of showering together; unfortunately, though, our shower is too small, & we end up rubbing up against each other more than we’d like to. Okay, I think I said a wee-bit too much. ;x)

Haha, I don’t think you said too much at all. It’s much more difficult to take care of someone when you’re constantly worried about elbowing them in the face. =D

It takes an insane amount of comfort for a man to let himself be bathed by his lover. It’s letting yourself be scrutinized by the last person on earth you want to have faults in front of.

The same can be said for a woman.
