Dedicated to Tom, Anna, and Mike, because without them this story would have never been born.
My fondest childhood memories were the endless nights I spent writing, creating, and dreaming with you.

The people of the land have given up on their freedom and face the grueling rule of a wicked monarchy with no hope of any change, and no reason to live at all. With the royal family killing any dragon or Dragon Child in sight, it takes a band of courageous strangers to stand up for the future of everyone.

"The Damned" is a rewritten version of an original RPG that began on August 12th, 2001 and finished on July 12 of 2002. It was the second RPG I participated in, and was actually being written at the same time as Close to the Ground, and by the same group of spunky, creative, power writing kids, and I owe them everything. This is our story.

Right now I am attempting to write this novel in forty days.
Please note that I understand and fully accept the fact that over the next forty days I will be writing a lot of crap. But the idea is if you never start you will never finish, and it certainly will never be good or anywhere near perfect the first time you put it down on paper. So I need to start somewhere, hell, I need to start at all. So bare with me as I plunge into this story, this world, and try to write a novel in forty days.
